The United States manufacturing plants of Texas-based Wilsonart have been certified to ISO 14001 and to OHSAS 18001 in recognition of their focus on environmental and health and safety management systems.
The company’s plants in Temple, Texas, and Fletcher, N.C., have met the requirements of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to minimize environmental impact and of the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment System (OHSAS), a benchmark for occupational health and safety performance.
“Continually improving quality, environmental and safety practices has been a key focus of our business for years,” said Kevin Sweeney, director of environmental, health and safety at Wilsonart. “The new certifications demonstrate our commitment specifically to the environment and to the health and safety of our employees. These achievements are based on the hard work of the many employees in our plants who have shown a strong commitment to achieving the high level of performance required to meet these internationally recognized measures.”
