Sterling Products Receive GREENGUARD GOLD Certification

Published: October 31, 2013

The majority of Sterling’s bathing and showering products made of Vikrell now carry GREENGUARD GOLD Certification and can contribute to better indoor air quality.

UL, an independent safety science company, administers the GREENGUARD Certification program, which tests and certifies that products are healthier and more environmentally friendly. Certification indicates that products designed for use in indoor spaces meet strict chemical emission limits.

“Achieving the GREENGUARD GOLD Certification for our Vikrell bath and shower products is another great testament to the quality of this material and the amazing value it brings to a home,” said Tim O’Connor, Sterling’s brand channel marketing director. “It is truly rewarding for us to know that we don’t just sell a high-quality product that is durable and beautiful, but that also makes the home a safer place. And we didn’t have to change anything in the material or manufacturing process to achieve this. Vikrell material has always been environmentally safe for the home.”

Solid Vikrell material offers durability combined with resistance to chipping, cracking and peeling. Vikrell is a solid composite material made of resins, fiberglass and filler, which is compression-molded in large presses to form baths and wall surrounds.
