Poggenpohl’s new 5,000-sq.-ft. flagship showroom in SoHo, New York’s premier design destination for world-class brands, has opened at 138 Greene Street. The two-story retail studio is a striking juxtaposition of old and new: The cast-iron architecture of the historic 100-year-old building’s façade and original interior Corinthian columns that support 15-ft. ceilings define a loft-style, open floor plan to make a dynamic setting for the modern European kitchens and luxury living spaces on display.
“We’re delighted to finally introduce the Poggenpohl flagship to the NYC design community,” said Marcia Speer, president, Poggenpohl U.S., at the opening event. “We’ve invested in our brand image and created a luxury living space to spark inspiration. It’s part of the company’s strategic direction to align luxury kitchen design concepts with a unique customer experience.”
The SoHo address is the first U.S. location in Poggenpohl’s global redesign that showcases luxurious home-like environments, representing the brand’s kitchen concepts: +SEGMENTO, +MODO, +VENOVO and +STAGE. A highlight of the showroom is a working +MODO kitchen island for live cooking demos. The matte-black island with dark oak accents contrasts with a 15-ft.-tall cabinet column finished in aluminum champagne.
Demonstrating Poggenpohl’s design capability beyond the kitchen, other “rooms” at Greene Street include a bar/media space, a wardrobe, two bathrooms and a conference area. In addition, an authentic NYC-style galley kitchen and multi-unit kitchen are on display. Poggenpohl’s kitchen organization solutions are installed throughout, with hand-crafted interior drawer accessories and pantry organization systems inspiring tidy spaces.
Industry-leading kitchen brands on display in the SoHo showroom include Sub-Zero/Wolf/Cove, Miele, BSH, Liebherr and Dacor appliances; Silestone, Caesarstone and Poggenpohl countertops; and Dornbracht, Franke and Poggenpohl plumbing fixtures.
