PIRCH raised over $80,000 in charitable donations during this year’s San Diego Golf Classic, a golf tournament of 120 participants. These proceeds benefited the company’s long-time partner, Savvy Giving by Design, and the Veterans Village of San Diego. This was PIRCH’s second consecutive year helping organize the tournament, which took place on September 11, 2023 at The Crosby Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, featuring sponsored contest holes, followed by a dinner, silent auction, and awards presentation.
“We were thrilled to host this year’s San Diego Golf Classic alongside Savvy Giving by Design,” says Steve Smith, CEO of PIRCH. “Proceeds will benefit two incredible organizations, all thanks to our generous sponsors and participants. It was a memorable day of friendly competition.”
Intended to unite industry professionals across Southern California for a day of networking, all invited golfers were VIP builders, designers and vendors. Their donations benefited families with children facing a medical crisis, as well as the veterans of San Diego in light of the 22nd anniversary of 9/11. Following the golf tournament, attendees were also invited to participate in a dinner, silent auction, and awards ceremony.
“We are so honored to be a partner to PIRCH for their annual San Diego Golf Classic,” says founder of Savvy Giving by Design, Susan Wintersteen. “We are thankful to have PIRCH, and the incredible brands it represents, not only as outstanding allies for our vendor needs, but even more importantly, an extended support system for children facing a medical crisis. These rooms must be professionally curated with design elements that are not only visually appealing but also cater to the child’s needs, using performance and non-toxic materials. We are eager to collaborate with brands that acknowledge the vital role a space plays in a child’s healing journey, contributing up to 30% towards their recovery. Together, the proceeds from this tournament will create a lasting impact, fostering a nurturing and positive environment for these young warriors.”
“Veterans Village of San Diego is honored to be one of the fundraiser recipients of the 2023 PIRCH Golf Tournament,” says Akilah Templeton, CEO and President of Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD). “VVSD continues to humbly accept the responsibility of caring for our unhoused veterans. We believe that every veteran deserves a place to call home. Every veteran deserves to be the beneficiary of the quality of life he/she fought to protect. VVSD cannot do this alone. We are grateful for companies like PIRCH for hosting the 2023 Golf Tournament that brings together like-minded individuals who understand that we must continue to work towards creating a new way forward where veteran homelessness in San Diego will no longer be a reality.”
