NKBA Gives Back During Kitchen & Bath Month

Published: October 26, 2011

During October, the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) is celebrating Kitchen & Bath Month by offering a free downloadable kitchen planner and bath planner, as well as donating products to the Storehouse of World Vision.

The NKBA’s kitchen and bath planners are designed to support remodeling projects and cover a variety of topics, including tips for setting a budget range, ways to find the right professional for a remodel, a checklist of considerations and tips to finalize choices. In addition, consumers visiting NKBA.org/Planners will also be able to access a list of NKBA professionals within their area.

The Storehouse of World Vision aims to address the needs of Americans suffering from disaster, personal crisis or economic hardship by providing families with supplies, such as clothing, personal care items and building materials. In celebration of Kitchen & Bath Month, the NKBA is urging its industry members to donate to World Vision’s Storehouse. These contributions will allow World Vision partner agencies to construct or enhance community centers, shelters and other facilities that support children and families in need.

“The NKBA is proud to partner with The Storehouse of World Vision as they work to lessen the effects of poverty in America. It’s an excellent way for us as a professional organization to use our resources to give back to the communities across the country where our members do business,” said David Alderman, CMKBD, 2011 NKBA president.

For nearly a decade, the NKBA and World Vision have worked together and in the past 10 years, the NKBA and its members have donated nearly $50 million in products to the Storehouse of World Vision program.

“In these uncertain economic times, the need to build and remodel support facilities is essential, and a significant part of improving the facilities involves the need for kitchen and bath product donations,” said Efrain Perez, corporate relations director of the Storehouse of World Vision. “With the help of the NKBA and the donated products from members, we will be able to help our partner agencies update many of those facilities and further support those in need. We are grateful for our partnership with the NKBA, which allows us to continue our mission of fighting poverty and injustice.”
