Learn About a Concept Kitchen With Jenn-Air

Published: December 13, 2010

Are you up-to-date on the latest in modern kitchen design? Jenn-Air has added another course to its online designer education resources titled “A Concept Kitchen for 2010+: Contemporary Casual,” featuring Ellen Cheever, certified master kitchen and bath designer (CMKBD) and National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) Hall of Fame member.

Highlighting trends in kitchen layout and appliances, Cheever’s course also addresses how to seamlessly combine metric-sized or European-style cabinetry with American appliances. “Because typical European metric-sized frameless cabinetry has a 6-in. toekick, and American appliances have a 4-in. toekick, it’s often a challenge for designers to combine them in one kitchen and create the fully integrated look clients seek,” said Cheever.

In addition to this course, designers can also access a variety of continuing education unit (CEU) courses from Jenn-Air, including Downdraft Ventilation and Built-In Refrigeration. Courses are approved for CEU credit by the NKBA, American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and The American Institute of Architects (AIA).

“We are very excited to be a part of this continuing education class featuring one of the industry’s foremost experts,” said Juliet Johnson, manager of Jenn-Air brand experience. “Jenn-Air is committed to engaging and sharing useful information with the design community through a variety of channels that include on-site designer training programs and CEU courses.”

Through the end of the year, Jenn-Air is on the road visiting major markets throughout the country offering local designers a chance to take Cheever’s course in person. The private events are being held in retail partner locations in conjunction with regional home and design publications. Attendees can use the products on-site and speak with sales team members, while representatives from publications give tips on how designers can get their work published and showcase projects more effectively.
