Canadian chefs, including Lynn Crawford, Chuck Hughes, Mark McEwan, Vikram Vij and Corbin Tomaszeski, are recruiting foodies to compete on their team for the first-ever KitchenAid Cook for the Cure Culinary Showdown. Hosted by actor Dean McDermott, this challenge gives culinary enthusiasts the opportunity to fundraise and cook alongside celebrity chefs.
Taking place at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York Hotel on December 7, 2013, the KitchenAid Cook for the Cure Culinary Showdown was created in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF). CBCF is the largest non-governmental funder of breast cancer research in Canada.
“With the KitchenAid Cook for the Cure event, we’re challenging foodies across Canada to put their best plate forward by doing what they love for the cure,” said Aleksandra Hoszowski, senior brand manager, KitchenAid Canada. “This event is a great opportunity for passionate home chefs to get up close and personal with their favourite culinary idols while supporting breast cancer research and the valuable programs funded by Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.”

The event’s top 50 fundraisers will put their culinary talents to the test live on stage with a celebrity chef. Five teams of 10 will compete under pressure to create three unique dishes.
