The award-winning design firm Hawk & Co has announced the opening of its studio in Laguna Beach, Calif.
Founded by designer Summer Jensen, Hawk & Co is known for crafting sustainable, soul-driven spaces that balance minimalism with richness and architecture with nature. Jensen brings a distinct ethos to her work, rooted in her cultural Hawaiian heritage, environmental responsibility, and a love of elevated, earthy design. In partnership with her brother Brandon Jensen, who oversees operations, the sibling duo has grown Hawk & Co into a family-run powerhouse, redefining what sustainable luxury looks and feels like.
Inspired by the canyon’s textures and energy, the new Hawk & Co studio, located at 1945 Laguna Canyon Road, merges indoor-outdoor sensibilities with refined craftsmanship and strong design values. It also serves as a living gallery for the firm’s ethos, offering visitors a firsthand look at how sustainability and artistry can coexist.
A key focal point of the studio is its striking exterior mural, created in collaboration with renowned artist Louis Carreon. Known for his expressive, graffiti-inspired works and international acclaim, Carreon transformed the building façade into a site-specific artwork titled “
“International Symbols of Travel: Laguna Canyon Edition.” Rendered in bold black spray paint, the piece combines architectural storytelling with spiritual and cultural symbolism.
Jensen has also incorporated composite materials, eco-friendly resources and sustainable design elements that reflect her deep respect for nature and the environment.
To commemorate the studio launch, Hawk & Co is throwing an exclusive, immersive event in September dubbed “Tropic Like It’s Hottt!” A night filled with tropical glam, Studio 54 energy and creative spectacle, the event will include live performances and music to curated design moments and surprise entertainment. The evening will be an ode to community, culture and the creative spirit that defines Laguna Beach.
This celebration offers a rare glimpse into how a design studio can be a cultural hub, a creative canvas and a sustainable business model, all in one.
