Guardian will be the manufacturer and distributor of Berman Glass editions, which will be part of the company’s new interiors line called Guardian InGlass. This partnership with Joel Berman Glass Studios is designed to make textured glass available at a lower cost with shorter lead times.
“Most designers and architects first think of Guardian as a supplier of glass products for exteriors,” said Scott Thomsen, COO, Guardian Glass Group. “That’s about to change with our extensive Guardian InGlass program. And partnering with renowned glass artist Joel Berman greatly enhances our reach to interior environments and opens new business opportunities for us and for our customers.”
The Berman Glass editions include four designs based on hand-carved molds: être, ima (pictured), aquí and esto. The organic, freeform textures are suited for a wide range of interior and exterior applications, including walls, doors, shower enclosures, railings and balustrades. Guardian will produce Berman Glass editions at its float glass plant in Richburg, SC. The products are available in panels up to 72 in. x 144 in., in various thicknesses, as well as custom sizes.
