The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) has developed the new REGREEN Implementation Workshop, a sustainable design course, which addresses the industry-specific challenges interior designers face when renovating a client space.
Building on principles from the REGREEN Residential Remodeling Guidelines, the all-day course employs faculty-led instruction and team charrettes to prepare designers to identify, evaluate, and implement strategies to green their projects. The workshop focuses on inside-the-building envelope issues including spatial relationships and adjacencies, furniture, finish and equipment selection, client education, and source control for healthy indoor air quality.
The workshop is the capstone course in the REGREEN Trained certificate program and offers 0.8 CEU. The course is taught by Annette K. Stelmack, Allied ASID, LEED AP BD+C, sustainable design consultant at Inspirit-llc and co-author of Sustainable Residential Interiors.
The first workshop will be offered during High Point Market in High Point, NC, October 17, 2012. Register konline here. The next workshop will be held in conjunction with Greenbuild in San Francisco, CA on November 12, 2012.
