Liberty Hardware has launched its first design competition with almost $8,000 in prize money available to the winning entries. The contest offers three categories in which to compete: cabinet hardware or decorative hook design, bath hardware design and alternative installations.
“We want to hear from consumers about what they see as the next innovative hardware design or solution for installation problems or constraints,” said Bob Jennings, director of marketing services, Liberty Hardware. “Think about what you would like in your own home? How might you improve the installation of these products? What additional features or functions can these products have?”
A panel of industry designers will review all entrants and winners will be announced on November 15, 2010. The contest is open until October 25, 2010. Submissions may be illustrated in any format—hand sketches, digital drawings or renderings—and entrants may submit up to two different entries per category (product design and installation method).
“We’re looking for a fresh perspective, a cool new concept or big idea supported by drawings and user interaction illustrations,” said Jennings. “At Liberty Hardware, we believe in continuous innovation and we are always looking for new ideas that we can turn into reality.”
Competition details can be found at Liberty Hardware’s website.
