GE’s Advantium iPhone app is designed to aid home cooks by offering access to recipes, shopping lists and instructions on how to use company’s Speedcook oven.
“At GE, we know that users want information at their fingertips, and in the kitchen that’s best accomplished with a mobile device,” said Irene Newsom, GE’s program manager for the new application. “We’ve looked at all the valuable tools that members of our Advantium community have told us are important and put them in an easy-to-use interface so that our users can find out anything they need to know on their iPhone.”
With the new Advantium app, hundreds of recipes—from appetizers to main courses—have been created and home chefs can add their own as well. “People can take photos of their dishes and add them to the Advantium community recipe library,” said Newsom. “It’s really fun to share the results when you’ve done something great in the kitchen.”
A variety of information is offered including cooking times, conversion recommendations, preparation tips, videos, a timer and shopping lists for ingredients. The GE Advantium iPhone app is free and available here.
