Keep up to date on surfacing material options with two new online continuing education courses from Samsung Chemical, the parent company of Radianz Quartz and Samsung Staron. The free courses are offered through AEC Daily’s online learning center and are approved for continuing education units (CEUs) for several industry organizations, including AIA, NKBA, NARI, BOMI Institute, HSW, IDCEC, NAHB and AIBC.
The “Acrylic Solid Surface Solutions in Commercial Settings” course looks at the characteristics of 100 percent acrylic solid surface compared to other surface materials, as well as the various factors that contribute to its growing role in sustainable design. Manufacturing, fabricating and thermo-formable processes of the material are also discussed.
The second course, “An Overview of Engineered Quartz Surfaces,” provides information about the characteristics, features and benefits of engineered quartz surfaces. This course contains a minimal amount of introductory sustainable design information.
