Electrolux Opens New Research and Development Lab

Published: August 31, 2012

Electrolux recently opened a new $6.3 million research and development center at its Anderson, SC, refrigerator plant. The 43,000-sq.-ft. space houses 10 new test chambers capable of testing 40 refrigerators at one time.

The center is part of Electrolux’s 2011 commitment to invest $45 million over five years in its local operation. This investment ensures the facility will remain competitive in the global marketplace. “With the addition of this cold technology center, Electrolux is able to not only make our business more competitive, but also continue to grow it,” said Jack Truong, Electrolux Major Appliances North America president and CEO. “A center like this supports the nearly 1,900 jobs we have at the plant and positions the business to thrive in the future.”
