Decorá Cabinets named Melissa Jessup and Scott Richards as winners of its design contest, which encouraged entrants to submit projects that incorporate the company’s cabinetry. Each winner received a cash prize and will have their designs featured in online advertisements for the company.
Jessup, of BL Cabinetry in Rural Hall, NC, won the kitchen category (see above image) for a remodel she designed for a retired couple. The retirees were looking to enlarge their kitchen space, update their cabinetry and increase the value of their home. To enhance the relaxed setting she created, Jessup specified Decorá’s Leyden door style in a chantille finish and espresso glaze.
Scott Richards, of One-Stop Remodeling in Savannah, GA, was inspired by a blend of old and new for his winning design in the other room category (see image below). He designed an integrated space comprised of a bar, breakfast nook and family room that complement the kitchen. Richards chose to incorporate the Toulan door style in alder with a sienna coffee finish to provide storage space for his clients.
“The entire judging team was impressed with all of the entries we received in both categories, but Melissa’s and Scott’s designs rose to the top,” said Emily Small, brand manager for Decorá Cabinets. “They each designed beautiful rooms that incorporated their clients’ wishes and made the most of the space. I am very pleased to extend well-deserved congratulations to Melissa and Scott, on behalf of Decorá.”
