DCS by Fisher & Paykel has announced a collaboration with Karen Mordechai, creator of the Sunday Suppers events and classes held in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, NY.
Sunday Suppers brings together food and people from all walks of life. Cooking classes taught by local chefs are followed by a communal table setting and dinner, designed to evoke an intimate family meal. Mordechai captures the entire event with her photography she posts on her blog (http://sunday-suppers.com) along with the recipes for those at home to explore in their own kitchens.
By partnering with DCS by Fisher & Paykel, Mordechai and her group of chefs and students can create their Sunday Suppers with the appliance manufacturer’s professional cooking equipment.
“I think Sunday Suppers represents something that is pretty phenomenal and not seen often enough—which is this invitation to celebrate food and all things culinary, sometimes with people you know and sometimes with complete strangers,” said Gina Marie Lathrum, product manager for DCS by Fisher
& Paykel. “Everything Karen does on her blog, the food she prepares and her photography is really inspired around food. A Sunday Suppers evening is really about inspiration. People leave there inspired to cook and try new things they never would have experienced before. Add in the fact that Karen’s kitchen is equipped by DCS and Fisher & Paykel products truly represents everything we stand for as a brand and fits well with Fisher & Paykel’s healthy living and DCS’ commercial culinary themes. It’s a great opportunity for the New York and East Coast folks, who attend Sunday Suppers, to see the appliances up close and personal. It will not only be a test drive, but also a testament to how well our appliances perform.”
DCS by Fisher & Paykel and Fisher & Paykel completely outfitted Mordechai’s kitchen with a variety of appliances, including a 48-in. gas range with six burners and a grill, a convection microwave, a 52-in. island vent hood and chimney kit for the hood, a double DishDrawer dishwasher, a 17.5-cu.-ft. bottom-mount refrigerator and a microware trim kit and a griddle plate for the range.
“The Fisher & Paykel partnership makes sense for us,” said Mordechai. “We have an incredible group of professional chefs who come to our events and teach at our studio. The DCS by Fisher & Paykel and Fisher & Paykel brands offer our students the opportunity to cook with the most efficient and high performance equipment at their disposal. It’s also great for the students to have an opportunity to cook with such amazing appliances and feel like pros themselves.”
