Caroma received a 2011 Green Good Design Award for its Profile Smart toilet. The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, bestow its annual awards to individuals, companies, organizations, governments and institutions for their dedication to integrating sustainability with aesthetic design.
“Innovation is at its finest with Caroma’s dual-flush Profile Smart, and we are truly honored to receive the 2011 Green Good Design Award,” said Derek Kirkpatrick, Caroma North America general manager. “Using the same high-efficiency, dual-flush technology found in all Caroma toilets, the Profile Smart goes one step further—finding a secondary use for sink water that otherwise would have been wasted down the drain. We are humbled to receive the Green Good Design Award, and proud that the Profile Smart now shares the same stage with the world’s finest in green design.”
With an average flush volume of 0.9 gpf, Caroma’s Profile Smart toilet includes a large, fully concealed trapway that eliminates blockages and two buttons for flushing: a half-flush that uses 0.8 gpf for liquid, and the full flush that uses 1.28 gpf for solids.
