Cabinets Built During AWFS Fair Benefit Charity

Published: August 17, 2011

More than 30 multishelf cabinets created in smartSHOP, a fully operational shop assembled at the Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) Fair through the sponsorship of 16 exhibitors and partners, were donated to The Animal Foundation, an open-admission animal shelter and multi-service agency to support the humane treatment of animals.

“The smartSHOP program has two great benefits,” said Angelo Gangone, Executive VP, AWFS. “Seeing a completely automated shop in action is educational for attendees and, at the same time, the program demonstrates that, as an industry, we are committed to giving back. The cabinets made during the four days will be put to good use. The Animal Foundation accepts 50,000 homeless pets a year.”
