Armstrong Cabinets is featured in Country Living’s 2010 House of the Year building project, “Home Green Home.” The house, developed by New World Home and designed by Country Living editors, is part of the historically inspired Country Living Collection of modular homes that offer attainable green living.
The home, which is featured in the November 2010 issue of Country Living magazine, incorporates Armstrong’s Town & Country maple door style in the kitchen. The editors paired the door with the new eco-friendly Origins cabinet that utilizes the urea-formaldehyde-free, soy-based adhesive PureBond. The hardwood plywood is derived from managed forests and then enhanced with a proprietary resin, giving it particularly strong bonding and water-resistance qualities.
The house is a 1,600-sq.-ft. “Hudson” cottage model that offers two bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths. It features a 1,100-sq.-ft. wraparound porch and an open floor plan.
“While all Armstrong Cabinet products are a safe and sustainable choice, an Origins cabinet combined with any of Armstrong’s solid wood center panel door styles offers the best available option for projects that require no added urea formaldehyde (NAUF) materials,” said Steve Nash, VP of sales, marketing & service for Armstrong Cabinets. “Aesthetics, function and cost are primary concerns when designing a kitchen and our goal is to present different options so customers can make individual choices with confidence.”
