Hawk & Co is proud to announce that its Headlands House project has been honored with the prestigious 2025 DNA Paris Design Award in the Interior Design / Sustainable Living category. This international recognition celebrates the firm’s dedication to timeless, nature-integrated design and its commitment to sustainability and wellness in the built environment.
Led by Summer Jensen, CEO and principal designer of Hawk & Co, Headlands House is a visionary collaboration with Chris Brandon of Brandon Architects and MDZA Landscape Architecture. Perched above the Pacific, the home masterfully weaves clean, architectural lines with the organic shapes of the surrounding cliffs and waves, inviting a delicate conversation between humans and nature.
Rooted in wabi-sabi principles, the design champions natural finishes, sustainability and biophilic elements. From a bonsai-filled foyer that blurs the boundary between indoor and outdoor to a color palette that echoes the coastal headlands, the home is a meditative retreat centered around health, harmony and environmental reverence.
“This award is a deep honor,” said Jensen. “It recognizes not only our design vision but also the values that shaped it with respect for the land, connection to nature and a belief that a home should be restorative. Headlands House is an embodiment of that ethos.”
The DNA Paris Design Awards celebrate the world’s top talent in architecture and design, honoring projects that elevate everyday living through beauty, functionality and innovation. The 2025 Awards Ceremony will be held in Paris on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025.
Hawk & Co, based in Laguna Beach, Calif., is known for refined, custom interiors that merge luxurious minimalism with organic inspiration. Under Jensen’s leadership, the studio continues to redefine wellness-focused design, informed by her Hawaiian upbringing and the island value of Aloha ‘Āina—a love and respect for the land.
Headlands House is a testament to Hawk & Co’s ethos that interiors should feel alive, connected and deeply in tune with their surroundings.
