Franz Viegener announced that its Zephyr faucet collection has been awarded a 2025 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Founded in Chicago in 1950 by Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames, Good Design is the world’s oldest and most recognized program for design excellence, honoring products that exemplify innovation, superior design and enduring function.
Marking a new chapter in Franz Viegener’s design evolution, Zephyr embodies luxury with intention — a refined balance of Art Deco inspiration, sculptural geometry and modern minimalism. With its faceted levers, strong architectural lines and elegant profiles, the collection channels the timeless glamour of the Art Deco era while delivering the precision engineering and craftsmanship that define the Franz Viegener name.
Manufactured in Buenos Aires at Franz Viegener’s state-of-the-art facility, Zephyr reflects the brand’s commitment to artisanal quality and meticulous detail. The collection includes widespread faucets, single-handle mixers and coordinating bath fittings, offering designers versatility across residential, hospitality and contract applications.
To coincide with the launch of Zephyr, Franz Viegener introduced an exclusive polished black PVD finish, developed specifically for the collection. The deepest black finish the brand has ever produced, polished black PVD sets a new benchmark in finish innovation and is joined by the warm, refined glow of brushed honey bronze, now available across the broader Franz Viegener portfolio. PVD finishes provide exceptional durability, up to eight times more scratch resistance than standard electroplated finishes, which makes them especially suited for high-use and coastal environments.
This year, the Good Design jury reviewed a record number of submissions from leading manufacturers and design firms representing more than 55 countries, selecting just more than 1,100 products and graphics worthy of the award.
