Duravit announced that its Aurena Collection, designed by award-winning architect and designer Antonio Citterio, has received a prestigious Good Design Award in the Bath & Accessories category. Presented by The Chicago Athenaeum, the Good Design Awards program is one of the world’s most respected and longstanding honors recognizing global design excellence.
The complete luxury bathroom series was recognized for its precise design language, premium materials and forward-thinking innovation. Inspired by the Golden Ratio — an architectural formula synonymous with aesthetic harmony — Aurena’s bath furnishings and ceramics embody perfectly balanced proportions and refined contours, creating clear, timeless silhouettes that seamlessly blend classic principles with contemporary sophistication.
“Duravit is immensely honored to receive this recognition for product design excellence from the Good Design Awards program and The Chicago Athenaeum,” said Bob Downie, president & CEO of Duravit USA Inc. “Aurena represents a highly successful collaboration with Antonio Citterio, where modern luxury meets timeless style, distinctive detailing and exceptional performance.”
Aurena is ideally suited for high-end bathroom projects, offering versatile design solutions and curated finishes. The comprehensive series includes a freestanding bathtub, wall-mounted toilet, sinks, mirrors with integrated lighting and a range of furniture options, including floor-standing vanities and consoles accented with sleek brushed stainless-steel frames. Available finishes include white gloss, white satin, black matte and black high gloss, bridging Italian elegance with a refined industrial edge.
All ceramic pieces in the Aurena collection feature Duravit’s latest surface innovation, DuraShield, a revolutionary protective glaze incorporating positively charged metal ions that create an invisible shield proven to eliminate 99.99% of bacteria. This advanced two-in-one solution is permanently integrated into the ceramic during the firing process, ensuring long-lasting performance.
The wall-mounted toilet integrates Duravit’s Rimless technology for effortless cleaning and a powerful full-bowl rinse with minimal water consumption. The sinks are designed with softly rounded edges and recessed storage areas for added functionality and style.
Completing the ceramic offering is a striking freestanding bathtub crafted from durable DuroCast Plus polymer cast. Featuring dual backrests and a generous 17½-in. depth, it delivers a deeply relaxing soaking experience. The vanities combine open and closed storage configurations, built-in towel racks and deep, soft-closing drawers for optimal practicality. The collection is further enhanced by an LED-rimmed, sensor-activated mirror with dimming capability and optional de-fogging technology.
Founded in Chicago in 1950, the Good Desgin Awards Program continues to honor the world’s most innovative industrial, product, and graphic designers who push the boundaries of design in the global marketplace. With this achievement, the Aurena Collection joins an esteemed roster of winners spanning diverse industries. The Good Design seal signifies that selected products meet the highest international standards for design excellence. The Duravit Aurena Collection will also be featured in the Good Design Yearbook 2025–2026.
