Thompson Traders, makers of copper vessels and accessories for kitchens and baths, introduced two hand-crafted bath sinks at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS). Made in the Santa Clara del Cobre region of Mexico, these unusual pieces were inspired by the flora and fauna of the Mediterranean.
The nested petals of the Fiore – “flower” in Italian – mimic a Portofino garden in bloom. Handcrafted from pure copper, the basin has a gold finish. The Ibiza takes its inspiration from the Mediterranean Island of the same name, and this intricate, hand-hammered vessel captures the form of a fish in motion. Finished in satin gold, the Ibiza is handmade of pure copper.
Both sinks feature a finish of antique satin gold, which has been formulated to inhibit the normal patina that would typically occur on untreated, natural copper, which allows the basins to retain their original integrity.
