Moen Sponsors Home Renovation Project

Published: February 25, 2011

Featuring Moen products, a 13-part television series, “The Kuppersmith Project,” with home expert Danny Lipford, follows the transformation of a 1920’s Tudor in Mobile, AL, into a sustainable, modern showplace. The home, originally owned by the Kuppersmith family, is today a neglected abode full of peeling lead paint, corroded plumbing, poor insulation and drafty, wooden-frame windows.

The show, which began airing in February on Lipford’s nationally syndicated television show Today’s Homeowner with Danny Lipford, shows how the 1,900-sq.-ft. house received a complete transformation during the project, including a 1,500-sq.-ft. addition to create a family-friendly, open design and a new master suite.

“This is such a great story that it took 13 episodes to tell,” said Lipford. “There are so many issues to cover:  its history, challenges and how best to create a sustainable, modern residence. Viewers will be intrigued and they’ll learn some tricks they can use on their own homes, as well.”

“We were thrilled to become a sponsor of The Kuppersmith Project, because it’s a great representation of what so many homeowners go through during a typical remodeling project,” said Kathy Flinn, director of advertising and brand, Moen.  “The questions that are asked…the decisions that need to be made…the budgets.  While most projects might not to be the same scale of Kuppersmith, the process is still the same.  It really is a great learning experience for Danny’s viewers.”

Moen
products will be used in all five bathrooms. The Vestige collection was chosen for its traditional style and WaterSense certification. Moen’s ioDIGITAL vertical spa, which allows consumers to set and maintain water temperature and flow with precision will be featured in the master bath.  In the kitchen, Moen’s Lindley Eco-Performance faucet with the new Spot Resist finish was specified. The Lindley fitting allows users to switch between three water flow settings, including a default setting that features a reduced flow rate of 1.5 gallons per minute.

The Kuppersmith project will be featured in Better Homes and Gardens and Renovation Style magazines in August 2011. For more information about the project, click here.
