The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) has announced the finalists in the 2011 NKBA Design Competition, honoring the best kitchen and bath designs of the year.
Sponsored by GE Monogram, HGTVPro.com, Kohler, ServiceMagic, This Old House and Waypoint Living Spaces, the 2011 competition received almost 500 entries, which were then narrowed down to the top three designs in 10 different categories. The winning designs will be announced at the Design Competition Awards event on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, during the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas, NV.
“The NKBA, along with our sponsors, is proud to offer member designers from across the country the opportunity to be recognized for their level of skill in applying innovation and creativity to kitchen and bathroom design,” said David Alderman, CMKBD, 2011 NKBA president.
The finalists in the Small Kitchens category are Chris Novak Berry, St. Louis, MO; Rose Marie Carr, Ramsey, NJ, and Dana Jones, CKD, Long Beach, CA. The Medium Kitchens entries were narrowed down to Elina Katsioula-Beall, CKD, Pasadena, CA; James E. Howard, CKD, CBD, St. Louis, MO, and Anastasia Rentzos, CKD, CBD, Mississauga, ON.
Cheryl Hamilton-Gray, CKD, Carlsbad, CA; James E. Howard, CKD, CBD, St. Louis, MO; and Jane Lockhart, Toronto; are finalists for Large Kitchens, while the Open Plan Kitchens category recognized Chris Novak Berry, St. Louis, MO; William Landeros, CKD, Denver; and Terri Schmidt, Delafield, WI.
The Powder Rooms category honored John Mills Davies, CGBP, San Diego, CA; Hanl, Victoria, BC, and Holly Rickert, Ridgewood, NJ. The top three of “Small Bathrooms” were Ellie R. Baker, CKD, CAPS, CGP, Brier, WA; Scott Gjesdahl, Lynnwood, WA, and Victoria Shaw, ARIDO, Pickering, ON. “Large Bathrooms” honorees included Lori W. Carroll, Tucson, AZ; Holly Rickert, Ridgewood, NJ, and Victoria Shaw, ARIDO, Pickering, ON, while the “Master Bathrooms” category recognized John A. Granato II, CKD, Syracuse, NY; Elizabeth A. Rosensteel, Phoenix; and Christine Salas, CKD, CBD, Calgary, AB, Canada. The Showrooms finalists are Artur Leyzerov, Toronto; Areti Tanya Rentzos, Mississauga, ON, Canada; and J. David Ulrich, CKD, Ridgewood, NJ.
