New President of InSinkErator Announced

Published: May 19, 2011

InSinkErator has introduced Tim Ferry as its new president. Ferry will be responsible for setting strategic direction for the company and ensuring that it’s running efficiently within that framework. He succeeds Jerry Ryder, who is moving into a new role as chairman of InSinkErator before retiring at the end of 2011.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a company with a strong reputation for quality, integrity and leadership,” said Ferry. “I am also convinced that bright days for InSinkErator lie ahead and we are already moving toward realizing that vision.”

Ferry sees opportunities for InSinkErator to expand its core business in both domestic and international markets. The emerging middle classes in countries such as China are demanding the convenience of food waste disposers and hot water dispensers and provide expansion opportunities for the company.

Food waste disposers are also being discussed as a sustainable solution for managing food waste. Many municipalities are able to process food waste passed through disposers and into the wastewater system into renewable energy. This reduces the burden on landfills while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Ferry comes to InSinkErator after more than 22 years in sales, marketing and management capacities at Emerson. He was most recently president of Emerson Tool Company, which manufactures wet/dry vacuums under the RIDGID brand, commercial vacuums under the ProTeam label, as well as ceiling fans.
