Brooke Chase Associates has released its State of the Building Materials Industry, year-end 2011 report. The 13-question survey was sent to more than 30,000 building industry professionals with subject questions ranging from company size to volume to industry trends.
The survey’s respondents included kitchen & bath dealers, building industry product manufacturers, wholesalers, private equity firms, rep agencies and residential homebuilders.
The report shows that 73 percent of respondents indicated an increase in revenue during the second half of 2011 and 81 percent have forecast an increase in revenue for the 2012 calendar year. The majority of respondents indicated they are relying on the remodeling/replacement market and the commercial market for the largest percentage of their business. Others have succeeded in a down market by creating brand image programs and expanding niche markets. While most see no change in overall staffing plans during the next 12 months, there were many indicating that there would be an increase in sales/marketing executive staffing during that same time period.
