Panasonic Participates in Week-Long Blitz Build

Published: June 6, 2014

Panasonic Eco Solutions North America is joining building professionals in 35 states and more than 80 communities across the U.S. as a sponsor of Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz to build, renovate and repair more than 250 homes. The company is providing WhisperGreen and EcoVent fans for the homes to be built during the weeklong event taking place June 9-13, 2014.

During the Home Builders Blitz, builders and Habitat for Humanity affiliates organize all aspects of building, including securing subcontractors and suppliers, fundraising and seeking donations of materials. Builders participating in the program this year will work with more than 80 Habitat affiliates.

Habitat launched its first national Home Builders Blitz week in 2006, four years after Habitat for Humanity Wake County (North Carolina) and local builder Tom Gipson recruited 12 homebuilders to donate their time to each build a house in five days. National blitz builds with professional builders were also held in 2008 and 2012. To date, more than 1,000 homes have been built, renovated or repaired under the initiative.
