AkzoNobel Wood Finishes is expanding its Chemcraft brand with the launch of AquaSilk, a new waterborne coatings portfolio designed to deliver high-quality performance, ease of application and enhanced sustainability for professional and industrial wood finishing.
The new AquaSilk range offers a complete waterborne solution with a suite of clear and pigmented coatings systems engineered to deliver the durability, appearance, consistency and application that performance professionals expect, together with the benefits of waterborne technology, including lower VOCs and reduced odor.
The portfolio launches with the 200 Series and 400 Series, together with a range of supporting products, providing a complete system designed to meet a variety of wood finishing needs.
Developed for applications including furniture, bathroom and kitchen cabinetry, architectural millwork and refinishing, AquaSilk systems offer excellent durability with ease of application across a variety of systems and substrates. The range has been designed to give professionals confidence in choosing waterborne coatings without sacrificing the quality or performance of the finished product.
All AquaSilk products are compatible with AkzoNobel’s MaestroHue color software and equipment, helping distributors achieve fast, accurate and consistent color matching. The newly updated MaestroHue system combines a large formula database with spectrophotometer-enabled measurement to support a broad range of color options. MaestroHue-compatible cans work with standard paint shakers for integration into existing distributor workflows.
Made at AkzoNobel’s High Point, N.C., facility, the range is produced using high-quality materials and rigorous quality controls, providing distributors and finishers across the U.S. and Canada with a reliable supply backed by Chemcraft’s technical expertise and support.
AquaSilk coatings will be available exclusively through the Chemcraft distribution network across the U.S. and Canada, with technical support and training available to help distributors and finishers successfully adopt the new range.
The launch of the AquaSilk range is part of AkzoNobel Wood Finishes’ commitment to helping customers advance their sustainability goals through product innovation. It reflects the company’s “It all adds up” campaign, which highlights how individual choices — including greater adoption of waterborne coatings — can contribute to positive change across the value chain.
