Schumacher, the venerable American design house, announced the opening of two new showrooms and design shops in Jacksonville and West Palm Beach, Fla. Set to open in September, they are the brand’s first brick-and-mortar locations in each city.
Each includes a traditional to-the-trade showroom experience exclusively tailored for interior designers as well as a luxury shop where designers and design aficionados alike can source accessories and antiques. Schumacher’s sister company Patterson Flynn, which specializes in floorcoverings, will also have a significant presence in both locations.
The rapidly growing design industry in Florida has made the state a strategic choice for Schumacher’s expansion. Both Jacksonville and West Palm Beach are important hubs for interior designers and the design community at large, with a deeply ingrained interest in living in beautiful spaces, entertaining and the decorative arts.
Occupying 3,000 square feet, the new Jacksonville showroom and design shop is located at 10550 Deerwood Park Blvd., Building 200. Locally based designer Stephanie Jarvis said she kitted out the space “to showcase what Schumacher does best: clean, classic American style, with a gorgeous nod to Southern traditional elements and beloved Florida moments.”

The West Palm Beach showroom and design shop, located at 5174 Georgia Ave., occupies 6,000 square feet designed by decorator Celerie Kemble, a Palm Beach native and frequent Schumacher collaborator who drew from her vast knowledge of local architecture and design history to bring the spirit of the region to life. The sumptuously appointed space features decorative lighting from Visual Comfort, lacquered tables from Dunes & Duchess, bathroom fittings from Waterworks and Vanity & Co., bathroom tile from Sabine Hill and an array of Patterson Flynn floorcoverings, including an entire room devoted to its popular abaca rug collection.
Designer David Frazier has masterminded the interior architecture of both locations, creating seamless environments in which interior designers will be able to shop more than 7,000 signature Schumacher fabrics, wallpapers and trims, as well as patterns from sister brands Backdrop, Iksel Decorative Arts, Boråstapeter and Tillett Textiles. The offerings from Patterson Flynn will include a highly curated range of made-to-order rugs, pieces from its signature abaca collection, and a variety of artisanal hand-knotted and flatweave floorcoverings, all crafted in the luxe materials that the brand has made its name on.
The design shops will sell a meticulously edited collection of antiques, pillows, throws, baskets, coffee table books, art, handmade ceramics and more, in addition to hosting educational events, trunk shows, book signings and workshops.
“Florida is one of the largest centers of design in the country,” said Schumacher North America President Emily Romero. “And both Jacksonville and West Palm Beach have their own distinct identities, with a clear sense of who they are and how they live. We’ve designed each location to honor that, with a goal of bringing the breadth of what Schumacher, Patterson Flynn, Tillett, Backdrop and our broader family of brands have to offer in a way that feels tailored and genuinely relevant to each market. Florida is one of a kind, and it deserves design resources that treat it as such.”
