During Milan Design Week, Modulnova revealed its latest kitchen innovation—Art. This new system is a sophisticated tribute to the enduring legacy of Italian design, where art, architecture and functionality converge.
Art reinterprets the soul of Italian style through a contemporary lens, merging the purity of geometric forms with the authenticity of natural materials. Designed to elevate the kitchen environment, Art is a harmonious balance of refined aesthetics and masterful craftsmanship. Its minimalist volumes and sculptural surfaces bring architectural elegance into the heart of the home, while integrated lighting elements enhance both atmosphere and functionality. Beyond its visual impact, Art is a deeply personal system—crafted to adapt to the tastes, habits, and spatial needs of its users. It is Modulnova’s latest expression of living well through design; it is bold, tailored and timeless.
The perfect stoneware reproduction of Appennino marble, developed exclusively for Modulnova, is matched with oiled wood with a classic walnut finish, made with ingenuity and craftsmanship. The Fold door, in walnut wood, is manufactured using folding technology with a 30-degree slanted profile and a thickness of 3 cm. It partly clads the Appennino stoneware island, including the corner area, leaving a 4 cm border below the worktop while creating an elegant aesthetic effect that enhances the material continuity and depth of the island. The vertical grain of the wood seamlessly crosses the surface of the doors, the edge, the profile and also the interior, thereby shaping an effect of enveloping uniformity. The extra thick worktop (10 cm) and the 45-degree join of the slatted side panels and fronts highlights the monolithic effect of the Appennino stoneware island. The raised worktop is also embellished with an elegant and functional drip-stop edge running along all four sides.
This project includes the new Glass system, featuring a recessed door in tinted glass with an anthracite dust frame that delineates a wall display unit. The door is made using an innovative construction system based on an integrated frame concealed inside a single vertical profile that acts as a handle. The surface of the Glass doors is therefore uniform and transparent without external profiles at the top and bottom, leaving the frame hidden. This type of processing makes the Glass doors visually lighter, with clean, elegant lines. The sheer transparency of the glass used for the doors reflects light, giving the room an impression of depth and space.
Inside the wall display unit, the pursuit of beauty, a feature that has always been in line with the design concept of Modulnova, is expressed in details—the classic walnut carcase and the Appennino stoneware shelves and suspended base units float in a natural space, where incorporated lighting enhances the texture, grain and veining of the materials employed.
With Art, Modulnova reiterates its natural propensity for ongoing experimentation that pushes the boundaries of creativity into unexplored areas, thus creating a close dialogue with the materials enriching the project and redefining the essence of contemporary design.
