Danielle Chiprut on Telling the Client’s Story Through Design

Published: May 1, 2025

In our latest From the Tap podcast, we speak with Danielle Chiprut on how and why she weaves the personal stories of her clients into her designs. The founder and principal of Rockville Center, NY-based Danielle Rose Design Co., Chiprut talks about creating homes that are intentionally curated while still entirely functional for everyday life, saying, “It’s about blending enduring beauty with practicality.”

She details the discovery process, explaining how her team immerses themselves in learning about a client’s daily routines, values and family dynamics to ensure that every design decision is deeply personal.

“It’s so important to uncover what truly lights our clients up, like a favorite vacation or cherished memory. I remember a client who dreamed of a primary bath that reminded him of a special trip. When we brought the design to life, he was truly emotional. Moments like that highlight the power of listening – it’s when our clients feel heard and trust us,” Chiprut said.

The designer talks about how the loss of her own parents enables her to empathize with clients when incorporating sentimental items into a space. She explains that these pieces aren’t just objects – they carry memories, love and connection. “Honoring those emotions is deeply personal to me and shapes how I approach design, she said.
