Representing two-thirds of the German kitchen furniture industry, it is a critical event where industry leaders showcase the latest trends and technologies. For nobilia, Kuchenmeile is a pivotal moment not only to display its products but to connect with partners, dealers, and designers from around the world. Last year’s In-House Exhibition attracted over 14,000 visitors, highlighting its significance in the kitchen design calendar.
From September 21 to October 1, 2024, nobilia will host its In-House Exhibition at its headquarters in Verl. The 54,000-square-feet (5,000 square meter) showroom will feature over 140 meticulously designed vignettes, highlighting everything from kitchens and bathrooms to living spaces and home offices. Visitors will explore nobilia’s Installation Academy, the noblessa luxury showroom, and experience a factory tour that emphasizes innovation, sustainability, and adaptability.
The journey for the KBIS 2024 contest winners will begin in Berlin, where they will delve into Germany’s rich cultural heritage and the influential Bauhaus movement. This immersion goes beyond sightseeing; it offers an opportunity for these designers to draw direct inspiration from one of the most transformative design philosophies of the 20th century. The Bauhaus movement, with its focus on functionality, minimalism, and “form follows function,” has deeply influenced modern design. By visiting the Bauhaus School in Dessau, winners will gain invaluable insights into how these principles continue to shape contemporary design practices.
This cultural immersion will extend to exploring Germany’s architectural landmarks, showcasing a seamless blend of historical and modern design—key to understanding global design trends. These experiences will equip the designers with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to enhance their future projects, merging traditional principles with cutting-edge approaches to create spaces that are both timeless and forward-thinking.
