MasterBrand Cabinets recently gathered insight on the top design styles and functionalities consumers are looking for in their bath and laundry spaces. The results illustrate the trends and reasons why consumers seek to renovate certain spaces. 



While an updated look is the number one reason for a bath remodel, other insights include:

• 46 percent of all buyers DIY cabinet installation to save money.
• Dark wood finishes are the first choice for bath cabinetry followed by medium wood and white paint finishes in second. 
• Popular design trends include floating wall shelving and decorative mirrors, base cabinets with open areas, personalized lighting, a spa-like retreat atmosphere and personalized space.

Laundry room trends revealed:

• More storage is the main reason for a laundry remodel, followed by an updated look and larger space.
• White paint or laminate finishes are the most popular choice for laundry room cabinetry followed by medium and dark wood finishes.
• Wall and overhead cabinets are a key priority for added storage.
• Popular design trends include wall storage and open shelves, space used under and over the washer/dryer, natural light sources and a priority to ensure the space is used for more than laundry, such as crafts, ironing and storing cleaning supplies.
